The 18th annual Tekkie Challenge was hosted on Saturday 3 September 2022. The last event, held pre-COVID in 2019, was a huge success with well over 2000 competitors and this year was no different! Competitors and supporters were very excited to get out of the house and enjoy some fresh air, albeit slightly chilly. Besides the very competitive 21km race and “Battle of the Sexes” 10km event, the family-friendly 5km Fun Run was also hugely popular.
Rev André van Wyk, Director of the Jan Kriel Institute commented that the school is very blessed to have such a supportive community, as most of the road marshals and on-site personnel were volunteers. “Without our community and sponsors this event would not be possible. We look forward to an even bigger event next year!"
